Photographers vie to capture changing times

Budding professional photographers are being called to capture images of morning, noon and night for the first ever photographers competition from the National Geographic Magazine.

Only those photographers who are aged 18 or over and who make less than 10 per cent of their annual income via photography are eligible to enter.

The winner, whose trio of snaps will perfectly capture the unique ambiance of daybreak, noon and night-time, will be sent on an expenses-paid assignment within the British Isles on behalf of National Geographic.

The grand prize also includes travel expenses and two nights’ hotel accommodation, as well as a FinePix F30 Zoom digital camera, together with a 1GB xD Picture Card.

However the assignment – namely the three photos of Morning Noon and Night, must have been taken on the FinePix F30 Digital Zoom, with “no other camera” permitted.

Organisers added that each submitted photo must be accompanied by a concise description of no more than 100 words for the judges’ consideration.

Agency pictures or photos that have been published or sold commercially will not be accepted, and entrants are limited to submitting a maximum of three photographs.

Runners up will receive digital cameras, while the winner will see their pictures showcased in a three-page feature to be published in December’s issue of National Geographic (British Isles edition only).

For terms of entry and full competition details please visit the Morning Noon & Night website at http://www.morningnoonandnight.co.uk.
